New tapestry started

Actually I am still working on the design.
This time I started weaving and found very
quickly that I wanted to change . I have learned
to follow such "instincts" - rather than force the
issue. It is the first tapestry in a long time, where
I can weave exactly what I want and I think I got
overwhelmed with all my stored up ideas. I am
hoping to have worked everything out by the end of this week.
In the meantime, this is how far I have got up to now.

Gorgeous! Attaching the cartoon to the warp with a peg - fantastic! Funny how basic things like that are left out of textbooks for struggling beginners! :P

Thanks for your comment Kaite, but no, it is not a serendipity tapestry, it's just that I changed my mind about what to weave. I had commissions before where I had to weave what was expected, now I can weave what I want, and sometimes, it is not so easy to find out what one wants (grin!)but I still work from a cartoon. the shaping similarity with my profile picture is based on having to weave lower shapes first...

Hi Michelle,
actually the peg is holding all the yarn ends out of the way for the photo. I don't know how reliable it would be to use a peg to keep your cartoon at the back of your weaving. I trace my design onto the warp directly about 20 cm at the time.
Happy weaving!
