New Tapestry ready

Welcome to my:

97 cm (38 2/8" ) x 67 cm ( 26 3/8" )

I hope you will enjoy it!

and, yes, I am busy dreaming about  the next tapestry, -
though I might weave some smaller tapestries over the hot summer coming up. I have a small frame loom inside where it is cooler than in my studio. It's a great way to use up warp which is too short for the large loom.
I will let you know what comes next :-)

Best wishes for all your projects!

Great photo Vera. Still doesn't do the real thing justice though!

It's gorgeous. My favourite part is still the trunks. I am also a fan of texture, so the whole thing really 'speaks' to me. Congratulations again.

By my reckoning this is seven months work or so... I find it quite scary that so much time has to be invested - it therefore behoves one to come up with a very good design in the first place so as not to waste all that effort... I have read your design hints and found them very useful. Thanks for keeping this very informative log of your work, Vera.

Thanks, Michelle and Misha!

I've waited a long time to have the opportunity and time to weave larger tapestries and I love investing the time for it.
And then, it could be something personal too, - some artists feel happier in larger and others in smaller spaces...
as long as we are weaving - all is well! :-)

Congratulations! Your Secret Garden looks wonderful revealed!! I'm looking forward to finally being able to see it hanging.
Photo's just don't do your work justice.

I do love the textures in the trees. I especially love the colours in the tree on the right it really draws my eye. This to me is such an iviting piece. You just want to touch it, especially the birds. :-) I like the variance too in textures with all the different flowers.

A really beautiful and serene tapestry. Congratulations again!

Thank you Tikarma, - I am glad the tapestry appeals to you and that you like it. I feel that even though the secret garden is now there to be seen, every one seems to get a personal feeling of special space from it :-)
with Love, Mum
